This philanthropic organization’s goal is to help families of men and women who have been wounded, injured, or killed during combat operations. Wounded Warriors Family Support focuses on the military family as a whole. Therefore, they provide free retreats in low-stress settings where wounded veterans, spouses, and children can reconnect as well as other helpful services.

Folds of Honor
It began with Lt Col Dan Rooney’s flight home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. An F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he became painfully aware of the realities families face when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled. As his flight landed, the pilot announced they carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. Lt Col Rooney watched as Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother walked somberly alongside the flag-covered casket to meet his family on the tarmac. Among them was the deceased Corporal’s young son, Jacob. Since that night, Lt Col Rooney has committed his life to rallying patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope through the Folds of Honor. Since 2007, we’ve provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military. And now, our mission expands to the families of America’s first responders. The Mighty Oaks Foundation is committed to serving the brokenhearted by providing intensive peer-based discipleship through a series of programs, outpost meetings, and speaking events. Our Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs hosts such Men, Women, and Marriage Advance Programs at multiple locations nationwide. The Warriors who attend are fully sponsored for training, meals, and lodging needs to ensure that upon arrival to the ranch, each Warrior is focused solely on his or her recovery and identifying purpose moving forward.
Military Order Of The Purple Heart
The organization now known as the “Military Order of the Purple Heart,”was formed in 1932 for the protection and mutual interest of all who have received the decoration. Composed exclusively of Purple Heart recipients, it is the only veterans service organization comprised strictly of “combat” veterans.

Dog Tags®: Service Dogs for Those Who’ve Served US® was established by Puppies Behind Bars (PBB) in 2006 to provide service dogs to combat veterans returning home from Iraq (OIF) and Afghanistan (OEF) who have suffered a physical injury, including traumatic brain injury (TBI) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Vets Town Hall
Seth Moulton, in collaboration with Sebastian Junger, brought a first-of-its-kind veterans event to Massachusetts on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2015. Since then, dozens of town hall events have been held across the country. These events are community forums aiming to establish greater understanding between local veterans and the friends and neighbors they served.
